Huge thanks for the support and coming to the party, hi to all our new friends and some words for people in the EU, and Bandcamp Friday :)
Couple of shout-outs too x
Hi friends - hope all good :)
Firstly thanks so much for the all the incredible support and coming to the party last night, so many people came and really made it a fantastic listening and social session - big thanks to Ian too for all the insights into his process and creativity, endlessly inspiring for me and I’m sure many of you too.
CDs going fast if you want one x
I was struck yesterday, and it happens more so with every release, how many of the same names we see next to new ones every month when packing boxes of CDs to send out - I’m so grateful to everyone that supports qd and its artists. It’s awesome to see the regulars and I love seeing new people and places around the world the music’s about to take the long journey to - thanks to you all x
As our EU friends know, sometimes shipping from the UK into Europe can be tricky - so since the beginning I’ve done my best to make it as easy as possible for you by shipping in bulk to a good friend in Portugal, who then ships them out to you.
In general, this has worked really well helping you avoid additional charges and delays - but in the last few months we’ve had some over-zealous customs agents delay a couple of packages - first our qd bands that go around the CDs, then qd13 (qd14 arrived before it…).
So please accept my deepest apologies for any delays in your CDs getting to you - we’re in a situation where occasionally we’ve shipped two separate orders together because of this - if that’s the case, I don’t want you paying twice for postage so get in touch and we can work something out.
Also, it’s Bandcamp Friday - so Bandcamp kindly waive all their fees - if there’s anything of ours or from any other artist/label you’ve been thinking about picking up, if you still want it, today’s a great day.

Shout out to the always awesome Neil Mason who’s featured Ian’s modal operandi in his weekly Moonbuilding Substack - essential reading every week.
“a meeting of musical minds between Ian Boddy and quiet details is always going to demand your full attention”
As is Moonbulding - read the full thing here:
Also thanks to David James over on Twitter - another music hero with impeccable taste, if you still use Twitter definitely follow him for regular and excellent music tips. He said about qd14:
“crossing an apocalyptic synthscape at night, getting swallowed up in a towering storm system, flashes of earth-cracking beauty in the ambient maelstrom. beguiling work from a prolific synth pioneer on one of my favorite modern labels”
Perfect words - find him here
So thanks again and more soon :)
Much love
Alex
