Hi friends - hope all good :)
Today it’s my pleasure to announce that next in the quiet details series is an artist that shines as brightly in the studio and she does with her spellbinding live performances - the wonderful Jo Johnson, with Escape Now
Out next Wednesday 2nd July, digital and CD editions. As always the physical edition comes with the unique long-form version of the album and bespoke six panel digi-pack, with separate artwork and glass-mastered CD.
Listening party Thursday 3rd July at 19:00 UK time.
A truly multi-talented and multi-disciplinary artist, Jo’s musical history covers a lot of ground. From being a member of seminal UK punk band Huggy Bear; to all manner of electronic experiments; to her current standing as one of the foremost exponents of stunningly beautiful synthesiser compositions - her ability to reach across musical boundaries is unmatched and exactly why her work is so widely loved.
Escape Now marks an incredible development in her language - all her melodic and refined synth nuance is present, now joined with a myriad of other sound sources - acoustic instruments, her voice and digital techniques meld together into something deeply mesmeric and endlessly psychedelic.
So happy to share this one with you friends - huge thanks to Jo!
For now, please check out some of her other music. Jo has a
Subscription that’s highly recommended, currently giving access to all of the Alterations series, which is brilliant. Find the latest here:Here’s an example of a peerless live performance
And the last full album on Castles in Space
Also out next week the second run of Jordan GCZ’s fantastic qd30 Hope isn’t a Four Letter Word - mind-bendingly creative stuff from an artist pushing the limits.
Now some shout-outs - big thanks to all these supporters!
