Hi friends - hope all good :)
Extremely pleased to say that coming next week we have a fantastic new interpretation of quiet details from the wonderful Scotland-based artist, Veryan.
I’m so pleased to be sharing this, Veryan may be a new name to some of you, but anyone that’s heard her work on the likes of Cue Dot Records, Werra Foxma, Mortality Tables and more, will be aware of the huge talent for emotive and gorgeously formed electronic explorations.
I’ve loved her music since I first heard it and knew she had the potential to do an amazing take on qd - One Universal Breath exceeded all my expectations.
Inspired by the grace and flow encompassed in her practice of Tai Chi, we find a rich palette of synthetic colour that ebbs and flows through the listening experience - beautifully constructed melodies intertwine with undulating textures, syncopated percussion breathes in-and-out with beatless passages.
Just a stunning piece of work - out next Wednesday 21st August with a Bandcamp Listening Party Thursday 22nd 19:00 UK time.
In the meanwhile, here are two albums from the back-catalogue:
First on the awesome Cue Dot (check out all their music, great label).
Second on Werra Foxma, another top label (down to the last eight records on lovely grey vinyl, highly recommended and a total bargain at the price!)
Exciting times friends - more next week!
Now a couple of shouts:
Guy Stuckens playing a track from qd22 on Cocktail Nouvelle Vague - Radio Libre
DJ BLeeK playing tracks from qd06, qd07, qd15, qd16 and qd19 in his Ultimate Feel Good Summer Party Mix - big thanks to him for the on-going support!
Support the DJ and stations friends :)
See you next week, much love
Alex
