Hi friends - hope all good :)
Very happy to announce that coming next week with a beautifully cathartic interpretation of quiet details is the hugely talented California-based artist, James Bernard.
Known in recent years for gorgeous releases on labels at the forefront of today’s ambient scene, such as A Strangely Isolated Place and Past Inside the Present, James has been active as a musician since the 90s - his album Atmospherics from that time stands as a widely influential classic in the genre. Solo albums and with collaborations (with his wife Cynthia as awakened souls, bvdub (qd04), anthéne (qd08) and more) show a discography of immense depth and the highest quality.
Only Now sees all that experience distilled into an album of serene and ethereal beauty. Using field recordings and a range of instruments including numerous synths (and of course his prized vintage 303), electric bass, granular processors and pedals - each track is a stunning improvisation that could only have been made by someone with such skill and ability to harness their creative intuition.
Exciting times friends, an honour to welcome James to the label with this stunning album - next Wednesday 31st July, first thing as always!
